This past week I celebrated one year of Kyokushin Karate training at Contact Kicks<\/strong><\/a> in Toronto, and what a year it has been. When I entered the dojo last year I was still married, working in a career I didn’t like, smoking, and not at my optimal health. My how things change.\"a<\/p>\n

Sensei Steve Fogarasi<\/p><\/div>\n

Stepping into\u00a0that dojo was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It has been my therapy, my fitness and my philosophy. Sensei Steve Fogarasi<\/strong><\/a> has become one the biggest influences\u00a0of my life and a true mentor in every sense of the word. Under his guidance this year I have been transformed into a different individual. His lessons have moved from the dojo to everyday life. They have given me the skills to stand up to adversity, to be calm in stressful situations, and believe I am capable of anything. To\u00a0Live the life you love!<\/p>\n

As well, the friendships I have cultivated at the dojo are some of the best I have ever had. It truly has become my new extended family.<\/p>\n

I have many things planned for this year, some of which are very new for me and will bring about it’s own challenges. However, with the tools I am learning I feel I can face anything. At one point this year I will be traveling to Japan to train with the great Hajime Kazumi<\/strong><\/a>. I will be documenting this journey in what I hope to become a documentary. I feel I can go to his dojo with pride with the skills I have learnt at Contact Kicks.<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who have been reading, commenting and sending me emails about my journey this past year. As much as you have told me I have inspired you, you have all inspired me! I have another blog about my personal life, called Mind, Power, Spirit.<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0I invite you to visit this as well, as I have many things planned for it.<\/p>\n
